I was wondering how much people though a car being a Cat D effected its value. If it was worth £20000 normally, would a Car D car we worth 50%, 75% of the value of a normal car.

Cheers

Not sure how much it affect... But i would always say condition is the key no matter. Sure a "top price" car must have correct history, and this will drag price down.

Fathers car is a Pacifica blue small turbo. 96000 miles, stages 1 with 18 Rondells & a mongoose exhaust. The car needs tidying up & would probably need a full respect to be honest. It has had a knock on the rear quarter that’s why it must be a Cat D. Father has photos of the repair but I haven’t seen them. Not sure on the history of the car.

So car is repaired "correct" and is up and running? All papers for registrating is avilable, an all okay?

We dont have these cat insurans classes, but think in uk its also something about insurance when New owner shall insure it that drag value down?

It has been a Cat D since 2002 apparently & its had 7 owners all together. As far as I'm aware there's no issues wth the paperwork.

Okay, i just tought it would be more knowleges on the escos there, since things like this will be very "modell specific" on value. One car you cant give away, and others is almost same price as a "normal" one

You see one is sold at 20k there, but we dont know how that was compared.

It's ok Sig, people seem quite positive about a Cat D. Supply & demand I guess & there's nothing on offer for under £30000 at the moment. If you can't stretch that far a car closer to £20000 gets you in an EsCos.

If proper repaired for someone dont only after a investment, it will be interesting, since as you say, if dont have enough to cash out 30k, this is a very good alternativ to get a complete usable car for ok money
